Eduan R. Maggo
My earliest fashion memory is… working on a furniture project at New York-based design school Pratt Institute, and stumbling into the fashion department looking for help to stitch together stretch fabrics. I was amazed at how creative people could be with fabrics! I think that is really where I was first exposed to this creative expression.
The most stylish item I own is… a pair of George Esquivel x Nick Fouquet boots that Mr Esquivel himself gave me as birthday gift. They are like a work of art; I just love them!
My most valuable item is… a knife that belonged to my father. He was a chef, and he was amazingly creative in the kitchen. He was always an inspiration to me, and it is a reminder to me to always be creative.
The one look I wish I could pull off is… I haven’t found the right hat that works for me yet, but maybe soon…
The one item nobody should wear is… I am not one to say, everyone should be able to express themselves as they wish. Style is personal, and some people can make the most unique things work.
What are your thoughts on accessories? Use them and have plenty of them! It’s an easy way to change things up and keep things fresh. Some accessories can be functional and fashionable at the same time.
When I shop I… look for things that help express who I am at that moment. It may be a new outfit or a new piece of furniture; I try not to limit myself to one particular thing.
Do you prefer bricks or clicks? I like brick-and-mortar stores, because you can get to interact with people that are an extension of the brands, and you get to touch and feel the products. I enjoy discovering things that I wasn’t expecting, and being surprised. The online experience is a lot different — you get a lot of content and information all at once. But you can’t argue it isn’t easier to shop from your home!
The difference between fashion and style is… I see style as the personal interpretation of what is in fashion.
Who would you say is the most stylish man to have ever lived? Too many to pick just one!
The one item I can’t live without is… my phone — it helps me stay connected with my family while I am on the move. Oh, and coffee!
What I like best about my company is… I love the fact that I get to design well-crafted pieces with an amazing group of people that care about what we’re making.
What are your thoughts on the industry? I feel that the industry is moving forward, and we are here to make it move forward.
If I wasn’t in the fashion industry, I would… be sculpting and painting.
It’s an easy step towards healthy skin that will also make you feel better. Here’s how it works
